I’ve spent the last few weeks reading through hundreds of reviews, Reddit threads, and product labels to figure out which CBD gummies actually help with sleep — and which ones are just expensive candy.
I haven’t tested every product personally yet, but I’ve done the digging so you don’t have to. Here’s what I found.
What actually matters in a CBD sleep gummy
Most CBD gummies on the market are underdosed, overpriced, or both. Before you buy anything, check these four things:
- The dose. For sleep, most people need 10–25mg of CBD per gummy. Anything under 10mg is basically a placebo. Anything over 50mg is overkill for a beginner.
- Full-spectrum vs. isolate. Full-spectrum CBD contains trace amounts of other cannabinoids (like CBN and THC) that work together — this is called the “entourage effect.” For sleep specifically, full-spectrum tends to work better than isolate.
- Third-party lab testing. Any brand worth your money publishes lab results (called Certificates of Analysis, or COAs) on their website. If they don’t, walk away.
- Melatonin — yes or no? Many sleep gummies add melatonin. It works for some people, but it can leave you groggy. If you want to control your own melatonin, buy a CBD-only gummy.
3 brands worth looking at first
Based on ingredient quality, lab transparency, and consistent user reviews, these are the ones I’d start with:
Charlotte’s Web
Full-spectrum, 20mg per gummy, published lab reports. Users report falling asleep faster without next-day grogginess. Around $60 for 60 gummies.
FOCL
CBD + CBN formula (CBN is another cannabinoid often used for sleep). No melatonin. Slightly pricier but users say it’s worth it for chronic insomnia.
Neurogan
Budget-friendly option, 15mg per gummy. Good starter dose if you’re new to CBD. Lab-tested, though the reports are less detailed than the others.
Two More Brands Worth Checking
Diamond CBD — One of the largest CBD brands with a wide product range including sleep gummies. Known for frequent sales and accessible pricing. Good option if you want variety without committing to a premium price point. Check Price at Diamond CBD
FAB CBD — Popular for their full-spectrum oils and sleep-focused formulas. Strong reputation for quality and transparency. A good mid-tier option between budget gummies and premium brands. Check Price at FAB CBD
What I’d avoid
Gummies under 10mg of CBD. You’d need to eat half the bottle.
Brands with no lab reports. This is non-negotiable.
“Proprietary blends.” Usually means they’re hiding how little CBD is actually in there.
Anything over $60 for 30 gummies. At that price, you’re paying for marketing.
How to take CBD gummies for sleep
Start with one gummy about 60 minutes before bed.
Give it 3–5 nights before judging — CBD builds up in your system.
Don’t mix with alcohol.
If one gummy doesn’t work after a week, try two — but don’t jump straight to a high dose.
The bottom line
CBD isn’t a miracle sleep cure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. But for a lot of people, it takes the edge off enough to actually fall asleep. The key is buying from a brand that’s honest about what’s in the bottle — and dosing properly.
Start with one of the three brands above, be patient, and see how your body responds.
